Welcome to the Founders List! We are thrilled to unveil Spotlighters Show Choir Camp, a one-of-a-kind summer experience designed to ignite passion and foster talent in the performing arts in the Shoals.

Laurie Mitchell and Jeremy Painter, the co-founders of Spotlighters Show Choir Camp, bring over 40 combined years of experience in the performing arts to the greater Shoals area.

After 21 years of service in teaching, retired educator Laurie Mitchell reunites with her former student and longtime collaborator, Jeremy Painter, to create a unique summer camp experience that promises to be unforgettable. Spotlighters Show Choir Camp will debut this summer at Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama, running from July 8th to July 12th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.

At Spotlighters, we believe in more than just a fun summer experience. Our camp is built with intentionality to build confidence, character, and community among students from rising 1st graders to 12th graders. We offer an environment where every camper feels valued, supported, and empowered.

What does your $285 registration include?

  • Commemorative Spotlighters T-Shirt: Your student will perform in unison and in style in their new Spotlighter’s T-Shirt.
  • Healthy Lunch Every Day: Worried about packing a lunch? We’ve got you covered. Campers will enjoy a nutritious meal each day.
  • Showcase Performance: Each camper who attends all five days becomes an official Spotlighter—performing for friends and family in an exclusive ticketed event.
  • Fun, Affirming Environment: Making every camper know they belong is something we take seriously—our camp is for everyone.

Our camp will be divided into age groups, allowing students to collaborate and grow together. Each group will learn 3-4 songs and choreography to prepare for a showcase on Friday night, where family members and the community are invited to witness their talents.

When Can I REGISTER?

Mark your calendars because the countdown begins! Registration for Spotlighters Show Choir Camp kicks off with an exclusive presale opportunity for our Founders the week of March 18. Stay tuned for a future email dropping in the coming days with details on how you, as one of our esteemed Founders, can secure your spot before anyone else.

But here’s the catch: Space is limited to 100 students, and trust us when we say, these spots will go quickly.
